RJio could try to sell the handsets at cost without seeking to make much profits directly. With the help of their large store network (recent media reports suggest Reliance Digital Express has surpassed Tata's Croma to become the largest electronics retailer in the country), RJio would hope to influence the other handset OEMs to include support for RJio's network on their phones.
