Title: Who Compete with Facebook Worplace ?
Post by: wiredlife on October 21, 2016, 01:17:41 PM
Facebook dominates the social segment, the enterprise network segment has yet to crown a clear leader. LinkedIn could be considered a competitor to some extent given the enterprise/social crossover, though LinkedIn has more of a public networking focus than a specific internal product for enterprises. Slack is one of the more popular services for business collaboration, but with a different style channel-based platform.

As of May 2016, Slack had 3 mn DAUs with 930k paid seats. Both Salesforce.com's Chatter and Microsoft's Yammer offer a more traditional social network style service - user metrics are not disclosed on either. We would expect Microsoft to improve its product capabilities post LinkedIn acquisition.

FB usually focuses on engagement with new product roll-outs, the ad-free nature of Workplace marks a deviation and carries an immediate plan for monetization. Pricing appears somewhat aggressive versus competitors, especially as it is based on active users only (versus a preselected # of seats).
