We'd like to share with you SmartPhone Pricing by Segment and apple iOS Vs Android Market Share across Segments. Even though Google barely makes money from Android, Apple is making a Killing with newer launches by superior positioning of products.
Smartphone market shares $400- 499 price band
Android & Others - 75%
Apple iOS - 25%
Smartphone market shares $500-599 price band
Android & Others - 68%
Apple iOS - 32%
Smartphone market shares $600+ band
Android & Others - 19%
Apple iOS - 81%
Thus Apple has carved a niche for itself in the High End Segment where it has tremendous Profit Margins. Our view is driven by our installed base model, which suggests that the iPhone?s installed base grew by 30% in each of the last two years, making a larger pool available for upgrades in CY16.
