Netflix announced it launched services in 130 countries today, bringing the total to over 190 countries and leaving China as its only outstanding market.
The addition of 130 countries would add 163mn broadband households, compared to the 6 countries and 74mn broadband households Netflix launched in 2015. The company also announced that streaming hours reached 42.5bn in 2015, growing 46% yoy. 4Q specifically reached 12bn hours streamed, growing 45% yoy.
By our estimate, Netflix?s addressable market is increasing from 306mn eligible households in 2015 to 458mn in 2016 with the inclusion of the rest of the international markets, or an incremental 152mn eligible subscribers.
