Per Ericsson's India Mobility Report 2016, Whatsapp and Google Search were the most used apps in India, with 90% and 85% of surveyed android smartphone users (in the 15-69 years age bracket) in India using these apps in Oct 2015. Indians consumed the most data on productivity tools (Shareit, Xender), entertainment (Youtube), and social networking (Facebook). Globally, entertainment (video) accounts for the largest chunk of data traffic on smartphones (43% in CY2015), followed by social networking.
