The pre-Diwali festive season discount sales kicked off in Oct?15, with all three major e-tailers ? Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal ? commencing sales on the same day. Mobile phones emerged the largest category of purchase by value, contributing ~67% to Flipkart?s festive season GMV of 19.5 bn. An interesting trend emerged from the traffic data for Oct?15: Amazon is now the clear traffic leader with 200 mn unique visitors, followed by Flipkart (164 mn) and Snapdeal (109 mn).
