Google?s GCP Next Conference should be a major event for the public cloud industry, where newly appointed Cloud and Apps
group head Diane Greene will be presenting for the first time at a Google cloud conference. Google acquired Ms. Greene?s startup
Bebop for $380mn in November 2015. Ms. Greene is on the board of Google and was the co-Founder and CEO of server
virtualization software leader VMware. At the event, we expect to hear more about Google Cloud Platform?s enterprise strategy
given Ms. Greene?s enterprise background.
We note that they have already started to see traction, as on February 23, Spotify, a
digital music service, announced they are now working with Google?s Cloud Platform, and moving the complex back end of their
offering to Google, rather than hosting it on their own servers
