Why Airtel Turned Upbeat on 4G LTE ?
« on: August 12, 2015, 02:53:09 PM »
Airtel management sounded upbeat about the spurt in pace of growth of 4Q device ecosystem in the country. 3G device prices have fallen to `3,000- 3,500 while 4G devices are available at about `6,000-7,000. The company emphasized that they are well-positioned to take advantage of this growth as they have already rolled out 4G services in 50 cities, which account for about 2/3rd of the country's data revenues and also have the widest 3G network footprint (on own spectrum). Bharti also plans to roll-out 3G across the country (except Kerala) on their own spectrum (won in the recent auctions) by end-CY2015.
