Company executives from Forbes Media, Adblock Plus, The Rubicon Project and OpenX were present. All panelists cited, as a priority, the need to provide a good user experience, while still preserving a publisher?s ability to monetize. With the proliferation of digital ads, users began experiencing slower load times and obtrusive ads, hindering the user experience and driving higher adoption of blocking software.

Both The Rubicon Project and OpenX stated, however, that the rise in ad blockers has had no measurable financial impact on their business as yet. OpenX turns away roughly 40% of the inventory presented to it, due to quality concerns.
