VCs Still Looking to Invest in Education / Healthcare
« on: March 13, 2016, 08:45:45 AM »
Among the prospective sectors to invest in, education and healthcare emerged as having the highest potential. These two sectors are the ones in which consumers are less price sensitive and the valuations are not too high, with no unicorns having emerged in the space. However, still the VCs are hard pressed to find any good opportunities in the space.

Education startups have inherent disadvantages of a) being unorganized b) difficult to scale c) payer and consumer of the product are different. On the other hand strict regulations and logistics challenges are the most daunting for the healthcare sector to overcome. That said, big margins and growing awareness of the two sectors make them most promising.
