Eros Now surpassed its FY17 YE target of 1mn paying subscribers, reaching 1.1mn subscribers (85% in India). We believe Eros Now?s partnerships with telecom operators and OEMs (incl. LeEco, Micromax and Bharti Airtel) has aided the meaningful uptick in subscription activity. As such, EROS now expects the streaming service to reach at least 2mn paying subscribers by YE FY17 and 5mn by YE FY18.
Management also issued a 5-year target of at least 15-20mn subs worldwide (split 80/20 between India and the rest of the world) with a blended annual ARPU of $5 from India and $30 from overseas subs. The implied $150-200mn revenue opportunity.
Eros Now also plans to acquire 10,000 additional films, bringing its total film library to 15,000 and will launch its original series ($2-3mn
per series)
