Zomato's Unbundled Mobile App Strategy

Zomato recently launched Zomato cashless (for seamless electronic payments), tied up with Uber (for booking cars) and now announced the launch of an online food ordering platform.

Zomato has effectively unbundled the search and transaction activities - the key rationale being to keep the app lighter, improve user experience through decluttering and faster updates without hampering the end user experience. Zomato will have cross-linkages between the apps to make navigation easier and lower pilferage in traffic. Further, Zomato believes that the end use cases are different for both the apps although both apps can be downloaded together in a bundle
