Persistent's Content Management & IoT Platforms
« on: December 24, 2015, 10:57:21 AM »
Akumina, which provides content management tools targeted to chief marketing officers based on sharepoint, has serviced more than 100 customers cumulatively in the last five years. It is a small tuck-in acquisition for the company and helps establish a presence in the East Cost of the US. Aepona was founded in 2000s and was later acquired by Intel. Persistent bought it from Intel as there was a change in strategy due to which it became a lesser strategic asset for Intel.

Aepona provides a service delivery platform to telecom carriers globally (primarily Canada, Europe and India). Management's near-term focus is to keep the existing business stable and concentrate on building Internet of Things solutions and proof of concepts using Aepona's platform. In the near term management said this unit will remain in an investment mode; however, the company will calibrate investments depending on the success it sees from new solutions.
