Reliance Jio Signals Non Existent in Villages / Rural Areas
« on: January 25, 2016, 11:09:33 PM »
Reliance Jio experience along the main highways the signal was as good as in Mumbai with a similar seamless call experience. All
towns/habitations along the highways were well covered. However, when tested into village roads, signals within 5-6 kms (happened 3-4 times at various points) went blank. At these points, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea were present.

If these results can be extrapolated to the overall country, we believe RJio's first phase rollout is primarily urban focused, where the company has matched up with incumbents on coverage, but there is no rural coverage. Till rural network is fixed, RJio could enter into
roaming agreements with other operators (RCOM/Aircel/BSNL etc). We suspect that the company would use sub-1 GHz spectrum for rural coverage (850 MHz/700 Mhz).
