The management of JustDial told us that
Google remains the highest contributor to JustDial's traffic, but also the most relevant competitor. Google contributed to ~82-83% of JustDial traffic in 1QFY17, with direct/referrals forming the remainder of the traffic. Of the
Google-directed traffic, ~20% was paid traffic, while the rest was organic. The proportion of paid traffic has increased from 15% in 1QFY16 to 20% in 1QFY17. The management is keen to reverse this trend by acquiring more direct users, particularly through the app.
JustDial intends to improve the breadth of the information offered by it, and also transactional capabilities to compete with Google.
JD Omni continues to scale-up, and had signed up ~6,000 businesses till June 2016 (~2,500 businesses in March 2016). ~30% of Omni?s customers have opted for the upfront payment packages (`65,000-95,000 upfront fee), while the remainder have opted for monthly payment packages (`20,000 upfront fee and `2,000-3,000 recurring monthly fee).
