Apple Watch for Swimmers & Fitness Freaks
« on: September 23, 2016, 02:31:49 PM »
Apple launched its second generation Apple Watch Series 2.  The first Apple Watch has seen solid traction in the 18 months since
the device began selling in April 2015. According to management, Apple was the #2 watch brand in the world by revenue in 2015 (behind Rolex), despite only selling for eight months.

In addition to highlighting the new watchOS 3 announced at WWDC in June, the company demoed new apps coming to the Watch, including Pokemon Go later this year.

The Apple Watch Series 2 includes a built-in GPS that quickly connects to satellites; in addition, it will also be "swim proof" with water resistance to 50 meters and will incorporate fitness tracking while a user is swimming in either a pool or open water. We view the inclusion of GPS in the Watch and the partnership with Nike, in the context of a greater focus on fitness by Apple

Further, the new S2 system-in-a-package ("SIP") features a dual-core processor that is 50% faster and a GPU that delivers 2x the graphics performance of its predecessor. The new Watch is available in aluminum, stainless steel, and all-new white ceramic.
