The top 3 players have seen drop in realization in both voice and data though accompanied by usage elasticity. The usage elasticity especially in data is encouraging given it came at a time when Jio was offering free service.
Voice and data per unit realization declined to 26 paisa/min and 14paisa /MB with ARPU of Rs 142 for Vodafone as compared with Airtel's 25 paisa/min, 12.4 paisa/MB with ARPU of Rs 158 and Idea's 25 paisa/min, 11.5 paisa/MB with ARPU of Rs 142.
Vodafone added 21bn minutes during the quarter, 11% sequential growth, vs. 15% and 10% sequential growth of Airtel and
Idea, respectively. Data volume grew 23% QoQ vs. 31% for Airtel and 17% for Idea. Vodafone added 4mn overall subscribers and 2mn data subscribers during the quarter.
