« on: July 06, 2015, 04:19:03 PM »
New innovations from iPhone are always copied by Chinese smartphones. We surveyed the supply chain and summarize their views on new feature adoption here:
(1) Force touch? No. Apple owns too many patents and the current Android OS doesn't support this.
(2)Fingerprint sensor? Yes, this is critical to enable mobile payment which is taking off quickly in China. (key chipset supplier is FPC, and module suppliers are CrucialTec/O-Film);
(3) OIS (optical image stabilization)? Yes, VCM shortage is resolved (key VCM/lens module
suppliers are Mitsumi/Largan);
(4) dual camera? Yes, this can improve low-light performance and enable post-shot auto-focus, Bokeh and other professional effects,
(5) Sapphire glass for cover lens? No, the cost is much too high,
(6)In-cell touch display? Yes, the price could come down quickly, as more local suppliers will offer this product soon
