DSL Broadband Modem Data LED OFF - Troubleshoot
« on: July 24, 2015, 12:30:09 PM »
On your DSL broadband Modem, if the Data LED is Turned OFF and all the others are Glowing, that mean the problem is with the Modem and not in the Telephone Line. How do we Troubleshoot this one ?

1. Just Reset the Modem by Pressing and Holding the RESET BUTTON for about 5 seconds when the Modem is Powered.
2. Indication of Reset has happened means all the LEDs for a moment will be turned off and then the process of connecting begins again
3. Now connect to the Modem using browser http://192.168.1.1 Login using default modem username and password [Previously configured password of yours will be RESET]
4. Goto WAN Settings. Choose the row 1/32 Vpi/Vci [For Airtel Broadband] and click edit.
5. Go on to the next, next until you get to the page where it asks for DSL Broadband username and password
6. Enter Your username and password. SAVE
7. Next and then you get an option "SAVE/REBOOT"
8. When it reboots you should be all set.

When you do these changes the Primary / Secondary DNS server values will    be reset, you have to re-enter them again to avoid frequent disconnection problems as detailed here.

Hope this helps
