Airtel, Vodafone Idea Increase Revenue Market Share to a whopping 73.7%. Idea and Airtel have gained 1.4% and 0.7% RMS over the last year. RCOM and Tata continued to lose market share and we believe CDMA operators are losing data market to incumbents that have launched 3G/4G services. We believe that as the data market moves to 3G/4G, CDMA data services will become unviable and may eventually shut down.
The top 3 operators added over 30k 3G sites, more than tripling the site addition y-y. With operators extending 3G network coverage and lowering data pricing, we expect data volumes to pick up. On the voice side, operators have indicated that pricing should stabilise / improve from 4Q.
