RCom Ends EVDO - Lights 4G LTE Network With Migration
« on: May 07, 2016, 05:11:00 PM »
Anil Ambani managed Reliance Communications pulled the plug on EVDO / CDMA Network and has initiated attractive offers to move its  subscribers to 4G platform (part of Jio alliance). This is currently available to only existing CDMA subscribers and all users need to compulsorily migrate to GSM.

The scheme has been launched in nine circles, namely Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh (East), UP (West), Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Gujarat, Delhi and Kolkata.

RCOM CDMA users (prepaid) can upgrade to 4G for a monthly recharge of Rs 75-97 they will get 150 free voice minutes, free on-net calling and a massive 10GB of 4G data.  Data adoption has slowed in the past few quarters and we think affordability is a big factor. This is reflected in the widening gap between device penetration and data subscribers.
