Reliance Jio 4G User / Consumer Experience Live Report
« on: June 17, 2016, 01:26:35 PM »
Reliance Jio Offer includes three months of unlimited mins & 25GB/mth of data (can be raised to 50GB in one of the three months). Offer
is applicable only with purchase of its Jio LYF branded handset (starts at Rs5,500; US$80).

Reliance Jio Activation took less than 24 hours from filling in the form using an Aadhar number (national identification number) for identification / address proof. One billion Aadhar cards have already been issued (80% of the population). This should help reduce friction in the activation process on commercial launch.

Reliance Jio Coverage as on 16-June-2016
The coverage is good; similar to incumbents. We didn?t witness any network black spots during our usage over seven days, which is
commendable for a new network in our view.

Reliance Jio SpeedTest 4G LTE
Varies from 5-50mbps and is a function of the band being used. Jio has 5/6.6/20MHz in 800/1800/2300Mhz in Mumbai. Its 800/1800MHz provides better coverage but leads to slower speed as lesser spectrum leads to lower speed throughout. Jio?s user experience thus is similar to Airtel 3G+4G. Note that while incumbents do have adequate 1800MHz spectrum, some is used for 2G. 2300MHz is currently the only band where a sizable amount for 4G is available; Jio (100% coverage) and Airtel (80%) are the only telcos possessing this spectrum.
