Automation in the Manufacturing Industry
« on: July 21, 2016, 11:32:53 AM »
For high-end applications such as automotive, clean energy and tech manufacturing, the precision level and required feature sets are more complicated. In the area of pneumatic parts, one example is the increase in the attachment rate of the linear guide to a typical pneumatic system in order to improve the precision level of the movement. An integrated subsystem also offers the ability to ?plug-and-play? more automated equipment. We note that automation is being aggressively promoted by the Chinese government, with policy initiatives, such as ?2025 Manufacturing? (or ?Made in China 2025?), aiming to upgrade the country?s manufacturing efficiency.

The increasing adoption of industrial robots is an emerging trend in many manufacturing sectors such as food and beverage (to enhance food safety) and technology products (to improve miniaturization and automation of tech component production). Some industrial robot applications are not entirely new to Western markets but are growing rapidly globally.

An interesting trend is the increasing communications/networking capabilities being incorporated into industrial machines. Giving machines the capability to communicate with other parts of the manufacturing process or other industrial machines could easily increase the value-add of the automation companies? existing products, in our view. Many of the recent acquisitions by Taiwan?s industrial companies have been focused on strengthening their communications/networking technological capabilities
