iiMedia revealed that Duomi Music, Kugou Music, TTPod and Mobile QQ Music are currently the most popular mobile music apps in China, all of them being internet-based platforms. Duomi Music boasted a penetration rate of 57.6% among Chinese mobile music users in 2012.
Baidu Music is an increasingly competitive player in this space. Baidu has years of experience in music search, which enables users in finding their favorite music precisely and quickly. Meanwhile, Baidu Music boasts in-depth and legally legitimate music pool, which should serve to isolate Baidu from potential risks arising from copyright disputes.
