Reliance Jio Infocomm mentioned that network rollout has been substantially completed across India. It has employed a large number of testers across the country. The beta program is to be ramped up in the next few weeks. Jio will be a pure 4G-LTE player with day-1 capacity to support 200mn subscribers; 85% coverage likely vs mandatory 80%.
Jio has demonstrated pan-India Lawful Intercept and Monitoring (LIM) facilities for LTE data and voice video & messaging, plus ILD services, to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). It has completed the acceptance testing of its network in all circles with the DoT for intra-and inter-circle MNP. Jio has completed interconnect with all operators across circles. No issues were faced in the interconnect of VoLTE calls with 2G/3G networks.
Jio has built 250K route km of fiber and a pan-India IP network. It plans to roll out 75K sites and double its domestic fiber portfolio to provide fixed and wireless connectivity. Rjio is rolling out Wi-Fi hot spots as well as last-mile connectivity for FTTH.
Jio will have direct physical presence with a pan-India network of >1,000 Jio Centers. The distribution network will include 0.5mn connectivity outlets plus 1mn recharge outlets at launch, distributed customer care, and support infrastructure setup.
Jio Money
Reliance has been awarded an in-principle license for a payment bank and has brought in SBI as a JV partner with 30% stake. Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. has started testing its mobile wallet service, Jio Money Merchant, meant for
